As part of its “Japan is Back” strategy for economic growth, the Japanese government plans to promote technological innovation by setting up a system of research universities to partner with start-up companies. The goal is to stimulate the generation of new companies from universities. The government also plans a system of graduate schools to collaborate with companies and other parties to attract experts in their disciplines. To strengthen growth of the medical field, the strategy will establish a system of hospitals to provide “high-level” treatment for foreign patients.
